my thoughts

Totally swooned all over this book. I wait some time for it and the time came, read it and love it. The book was so emotional for me, that's why it was so good. I loved every second of it.

“When the store was empty again, I buried my head in my hands. I hadn’t realized how much Josh had been helping me get through the summer until he wasn’t there anymore. I wanted him to ask me how the Sky was. And then I wanted him to make it stop raining.” 

Most of the time I go into books without knowing exactly what they are about, of this one I only knew half about it. But going without knowing how much to except, only the best, was actually the best. Skylar was a troubled character, because she had problems in her house, in her life and in her love life. Josh wasn't that far begin, his family had problems too (but we cannot see them clearly), and his love life collide so hard with his past demons and his life that it wasn't easy for him to take steps. When both characters collide in the first chapter, I could feel the firewoks inside of me telling me they were right for each other. Every time I passed a chapter I wonder myself why they didn't put there own problems aside and enjoy life. Plus even if they help each other, those problems would dissolve in thin air.

“I don’t really know what it means to move on, but lately, with Sky, I’m starting to feel like I want to because when I look at her, I don’t see you or the war or any of the shit in my head. I just see her, and it’s like suddenly I can breathe again after holding my breath for so long.”

As I said, I loved the book. But maybe you are wondering why I didn't rated with five stars, well... I would have loved more happy moments at the end. Like an epilogue or another scene about what happened after. Other than that the book was perfect. You will love it.
