my overall rating & thoughts

t was a long time ago when I start seeing these books popping up in my feed on Goodreads, since then they have been in my TBR. So it has been a long time. Recently I have been trying to stumble upon books from back in the days and just read them. I have been getting this feeling of “why the hell did I not read this before?” so I guess I have been doing a good job.

That is exactly what happened with this series. I just finished N9ne and I have absolutely no regrets in reading them now that they are all out because some of these books ends were very fucked up for me waiting for the next one. I’m very grateful to stumble upon them when I did. All the drama is mostly set in Logan’s Beach, Florida, where there is a King, a Preppy, a Bear, and later on, a Prince named Nine. These books ripped my heart apart just to give it back with a few words little by little. I have a feeling that I might actually reread some of these books.

King is that, the motherfucking King. There is nothing much I can say to describe him. His backstory is hard, so that is the way he is a ruthless as he is. No one messes with King and lives to tell the tale. Unless you are Preppy, the diarrhea of things that comes out of that mofo is just unbelievable. But when a Jane Doe crashes his party, his room, and his thoughts… let say that this King might as well claim his Queen. Obviously, there is more than what meets the eye with Doe but too bad she remembers shit and when she does, damn, shit hit the fan as messy as a pig in a pen.

Bear is another story. Because King found his soulmate without looking for her. But, Bear, Bear found her young and never thought of her again. She, Thia, never stopped thinking about him and the promise he made her. So when the time came, Thia went straight to Bear. Cannot say that it was the right time for him after all the shit that went down with everything, but it was the right time for THEM. So Bear had to do the tough job, he had to get his head out of his ass.

Preppy’s story wrecked everything I have inside of me. Spoilers ahead. I swore up and down that he was dead and I almost couldn’t deal with it, so the chance to read a book of him was not on my list until at the end of Bear’s story he came crashing down on them. Preppy’s wife was just that for at least three years and no one knew about, only him. Dre is a powerful lady, let me tell you. That girl got to the lowest point, only to go back up for herself and, deep down, for him. Reading their story made me weep. I swear I’m still trying to get used to everything that happened in these three books.

Smoke is a really far away character that we see once in Preppy’s story, and then he just did that. He went up in smoke. Reading his story was easy, there was still heavy shit and my heart hurt how he came up to be who he is, but I enjoyed the ride. Frankie is smart. Like smarter than anyone smart. But she’s still in harm’s way and in so much shit that only Smoke can help her even though it doesn’t look like help in the beginning. I swear these two are one for the other.

Nine’s story is as heavy as Preppy’s backstory. These poor kids had it hard growing up, but finding out each other did them good. I was devastated reading about how he lost someone that would change his life for good when he knew that Preppy was dead. But losing her made him found himself and then his brother that wasn’t really dead. That whole scene is the MVP in both books (Preppy’s and Nine’s). Lenny’s story wasn’t my favorite, but these two together were the bomb. That plot twist in almost the end gave me chills.

The bonus epilogue at the end of N9ne of him receiving the key of the kingdom and becoming the prince give me seriously good vibes that I wanted to cry. This series is going down with me for a long time. I swear you will not regret reading these.

This is how everything is going down. I wrote my thoughts per book, but there are spoilers for the book before that one, so there’s that. I did not read any book of Rebecca’s or even Mark’s because I considered them not relevant to me. So they were a no-go for me.

BEING ME

Well, it got better. I said before, on my review of the first book, that I was really rooting for Chris to do the right thing AND he did. This book was very, very good. The only book in the whole series that I rated five stars. I dislike a little the last page, but it was good because it made me go straight to the next one and that is how a book should finish (sometimes I really hate it because the next book is not out, not the case here).

I also loved that Sara got balls. She is all in and nothing is stopping her. She wants to know what the hell happened to Rebecca, her friend Ella, and what is inside Chris mind so bad that she’ll do and say anything. Atta girl! I also got to really feel uncomfortable with Mark in this book. He isn’t as sincere as he should. Dammit, Mark is for your own good. This book was action packed at the end, so I recommend very much.

REVEALING US

Before talking about how good Paris was in this book, I have to say that I really dislike the cover change. I like way better the sexy shots of them (Sara & Chris) than the stupid flowers painted. Sorry, had to say it.

So, yeah, little spoilers ahead. Chris gives a final warning to Sara, come with me to Paris or there is no more us. Sara is a smart girl and went straight to the airport, duh. Let me tell you that Paris is real pretty in the descriptions but the things that happened in here were not easy or pretty for this couple. We got to meet new characters that were crucial for this couple growth. We also have the whole bomb of Rebecca being dead, and for that, I was very sad. It is hinted in several occasions that it was the case, but I was just like Sara… hoping that she was alive and well.

I am very pissed that the whole thing with Ella is not going anywhere in these books. I know that she has her own series, but dammit I was really hung up trying to know more of her. Anyways, Sara also has other problems, like maybe going to prison because she’s a suspect of killing Rebecca. WHAT, right? Totally a good read!

HIS SECRETS

I totally enjoyed way better Chris’ POV. It was said that this book was short, but it gave inside of Chris’ mind and how his thoughts form. I saw his pain, but the love of him for Sara shine brighter than any dark thing that happened in here. I was so pumped for the wedding of these two lovebirds really bad.

NO IN BETWEEN

If I read this books when they were coming out, I would have to be very mad at how this book ended. It was not a cliffhanger. It was not super sweet. It was not even super bad. It was super AVERAGE. There was no happy ending, we don’t even get a piece of what is going to happen next.

Then I noticed that the next books were about MARK. WTF, people? I do NOT under any circumstance want to read about his story, his new love life or how fuck up he was to ruin Rebecca’s life. I have to admit that I was sad for him because you can see that he was really hurting over Rebecca, but I don’t want to read HIS story. No, thank you.

Later I noticed that if I wanted a happy ending, I had to read a NOVELLA. Not a full book, but a SHORT BOOK of how happy my favorite couple was going to end in this story. Really, this book was good, full of actions and WTF scenes, but the end was so not of my like that I disliked everything.

ALL OF ME

I cannot dish the fact that the series was really good, but I was hoping this book was going to give me closure, guess again. Why are you giving me a good story just to not end it as good as you started it? Yes, I’m mad.

This book brings a base step for so many other stories of other books of this author, that I got mad. I don’t want snips of other couples, I want the happy ending of this one. If the series would have ended with a bang, then I would be more excited to read the books of the other characters in this series, but no. Now I’m not that pumped because I already know how everything will be going down.

OVERALL

As I said, the beginning was super good, but the story started to fall through the cracks and the end was not as a bang as I was hoping. I still enjoyed reading it, but for now, I think I will steer clear from this author for a while. Peace out.

my rate

I finished it. I'm so sad, but so happy that I finish one of my favorite series. I was dying to finally read the happy ending, but this feeling is bittersweet. I applaud the author for this series, it was way better than the one before. I just feel that things were not completed enough, but the main problem was and I'm happy for it.

If you read the Covenant series, then Titan is for you. This is the last book in the series and is totally bittersweet. So if you read the original series, then you know this spin-off is to give us the final (happy) end of Seth and our new kickass female lead, Josie. The book before this one was strong, it made everything very more complicated, so I wasn't sure of how this was going to end. This is the quick summary... Josie is a demigod and the love of Seth's live, who is now a god. These two are expecting a child, call that a blessing. The Titans are furious and killing people like they are cockroaches. The demigods must stop them, but no other God wants to tell them how. When a sacrifice must be made, things might fall apart.

While reading this book I was truly scared of my favorite characters. This author, as any other, kills people for fun, so I was very very afraid. Let's say that I was waiting for the plot twists that happened, but I wanted the explication of why they happened, and it was good. Is so secret that Greek Mythology is my fave, but I have to admit that authors are making me hate these gods. They are so selfish, but so selfless when needed. They talk very cryptic and made my insides bust of rage. They are also hilarious because Dionysus wearing a beach shirt is funny, so is one of the Titans having a blue mohawk. But my whole love goes to Apollo. He got his hands dirty, he deserves all the awards and be remembered as the hero he is.

Kudos to the author for making a book so good that I didn't want to remember anymore because my tears were going to fall. Fully recommend the series.

my rate

Cambria Hebert is the authors of one of the series that I can't get enough even though is done and everyone had their happy ending (Hashtag/GearShark series), so I keep rereading them. It was time for me to move on and read newer stuff she was coming out with. I regret nothing. I love how she writes her characters, so I fell in love with Stark from page 1.

Reading a story about a celebrity might not be something I would be into, but reading about this guy who is a fuck up and this girl changes him completely.... that, I am into. Stark is a jerk, but a good one. Violet is an under the radar girl that loves what she's studying, art. These two cannot be more for each other because that's impossible and even then, they are more perfect for each other. Art is something that connects them, but their lives are not easy.

Stark lied. Well, he hid the truth. But he was still himself. Violet struggles every day with an invisible sickness (most of the time invisible). But he made her feel stronger than before. She made him feel the real him, not Ten, but the real Stark. They were good for each other, so the happy ending was a given. Now, it was too fast. I wanted more happiness, but I'm content that I might see more of them in the upcoming books.

I have to admit that I liked this changed. I mean the change from a football/sports series to a celebrity/music one. I will always love how Cambria makes her male characters grovel, so I'll always read them. My favorite part is when the boys are possessive af, I just love it. The best plot twist was when she was also like that. The real touch was her having the disease, RA. It brought the most human part of this famous celebrity to come out and it made the whole story for "real" for the lack of words.

Overall, I loved the story and I can't wait for more of whatever Cambria wants to write.
