[R] Cress, by Marissa Meyer

Cress
(The Lunar Chronicles #3)
by: Marissa Meyer

★★★★★

In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

my thoughts
“Captain?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think it was destiny that brought us together?"
He squinted and, after a thoughtful moment, shook his head. "No. I'm pretty sure it was Cinder.”
I will TRY to make this review good, because I read this book last year around April. There isn't much to say than its pretty good book. Full of feelings and things that I didn't thought of reading. It broke my heart at some parts and it made my heart go boom-boom boom-boom is other parts.
“I promise, I will not let you die without being kissed.”
We met Throne in last book, but here we will see more of him, how he thinks and acts. Plus a new chracter is intruduced to the gang, Cress [short for Crescent Moon]. So we have two more POVs, which is a plus and we have one more lovely couple, which is a plus plus. After the failed / succeed rescue mission of Cress, things got out of hand a bit. Some people disappered, the gang actually got separated and the whole book is to how to come back together. The book is also planning to overthrone Queen Levana, of course. Cress is a good piece of the puzzle, because of her knowledge of anything, but the thing that sadness her is not nowhing from where she come from. We, reader, know exactly from where, but poor Cress. Throne's always try to give her hope about everything, but damn, things are bad. Will they find the way to reunited the gang?
“Maybe there isn’t such a thing as fate. Maybe it’s just the opportunities we’re given, and what we do with them. I’m beginning to think that maybe great, epic romances don’t just happen. We have to make them ourselves.”
Throne can be a pain in the ass towards Cress sometimes, but at heart he wants the best for her even if he isn't included in that plan. It pains me how much he lowers himself to let the others be happy and he is never happy. I want him happy... with Cress. The book is worth reading it to understand the whole story of Cinder. Read the book, I recommend it. I recommend the whole series, once away. Why do I need to talk about Cinder when I can give you this quote?
“All right, Miss Cryptic. What's the new plan, then?"Glancing around the room, Cinder tipped up her chin. "It starts with kidnapping the groom."Iko's hand shot into the air."Yes, Iko?""That is the best idea ever. Count me in.”

  2. I agree that its not the best of the series, but I really like it and in the plus side, we had some really good scenes between Cinder and Kai & Scarlet and Wolf. Thanks for stopping by!
