[R] Half-Blood, by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-Blood (The Covenant #1)
by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

3 of 5 stars

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1: Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

my thoughts
Hold on! Does that blur sounds familiar to you? I guess that the answer is a yes. You could totally compare this series, this book, this characters, this summary... ALL with the Vampire Academy series. If that was your guess, then you were right. It has a lot of similar things. The characters have different names, but same personality. Maybe the background history of them are slighty different, but still.

I would NOT say that its the same plot and drama. Yes, its kind of similar, but when you get to the point where you notice what its the problem and all... you notice the difference.

I will not resume the first pages of book like I have done in the past, because is barely the same of the Vampire Academy. The only thing that I could say its: give it a try! Do not let people confuse you saying that the book sucks because is the same of VA, yada yada. IT'S NOT THE SAME! Damn! Believe me when I tell you that you will not put down this book, neither the other ones.

Go ahead and read it! What are you waiting?
