5 of 5 stars

Ewan McCabe, the eldest, is a warrior determined to vanquish his enemy. Now, with the time ripe for battle, his men are ready and Ewan is poised to take back what is his—until a blue-eyed, raven-haired temptress is thrust upon him. Mairin may be the salvation of Ewan's clan, but for a man who dreams only of revenge, matters of the heart are strange territory to conquer.

The illegitimate daughter of the king, Mairin possesses prized property that has made her a pawn—and wary of love. Her worst fears are realized when she is rescued from peril only to be forced into marriage by her charismatic and commanding savior, Ewan McCabe. But her attraction to her ruggedly powerful new husband makes her crave his surprisingly tender touch; her body comes alive under his sensual mastery. And as war draws near, Mairin's strength, spirit, and passion challenge Ewan to conquer his demons—and embrace a love that means more than revenge and land.

What's up? Me? Nah' here I will explain how much I LOVE this book. Read very carefully because if you do, you will love this book as I do. As the title says "In Bed with a Highlander" is only for 18 or over years old people. But I love more the romance scenes that the sex ones.

Dear God; the McCabe boys are so hot that I could make my breakfast, lunch and dinner on them. I thought that it was sin being so hot and handsome, but these guys are... I really don't have words for it. The books is settled, I think, in medieval times. With all that words and how they talk, my guess could be acurate. The setting is full of lands and its place in Scothland. Divide it in two: highlands and lowlands. Ya know why the "highlander" thing in the title?

Beginning. Mairin Stuart is our main female character and one of the "narrators". At the start she is living in an abbey, because she is hidding from all those man that wants to marry her, just to obtain her dowry. She is a bastard child of the former king and he leave all his money and lands to his first born child, only when she was married and carrying a child of her one. Ya know why she is hidding? Now, she is spoted in this abbey by Duncan Cameron soldiers and was taken to his keep. In the journey, the soldeirs found a young boy trying to steal one of his horses and when he was almost to get kill, Mairin got in the middle and save him. This boy, Crispen McCabe, promise her that if they both escape and arrive alive to his house, her father will protect her. Ah, something important... a McCabe word is very loyal. When they do escape from Cameron's keep, arriving to McCabe's keep was not peaches and cream. Crispen's father, Ewan McCabe, was furious and he thought that Mairin was the one who kidnapped his son. Crispen went to her rescue.

Now, here is the thing. No one in McCabe's keep knew her name, except for Crispen who swear not to tell anyone, but when Ewan confirms her name and heritage. He propose her and she accepts. There was no love, but she accept with the condition of being care and protect, which Ewan accepted. When the time came, they fall in love, but there are worse problems. Duncan Cameron wants her dowry and the lands she was promised when she got married and carrying a child. Now that she is married and carrying a child of McCabe, he seeks revenge for it. Will Mairin surender to save her live and the live of his loveones? Will Ewan come to her rescue?

This book is so amazing. All the setting, characters, scenes... everything. This is a trilogy and I'm glad for it. The McCabe brothers are three and every single one has a book dedicated to him. The first one is for the older brother, Ewan. The second and third are for Alaric and Caelen, in that order. The storied of their hearts falling in love. Which is something to read, because they do have hard hearts after all they have been through. If I like it, I'm sure you will. Do not wait one more second and read them!
xoxo, sam.
