Where there’s smoke, there’s fire...
Since 9/11, Brooklyn firefighter Griff Muir has wrestled with impossible feelings for his best friend and partner at Ladder 181, Dante Anastagio. Unfortunately, Dante is strictly a ladies’ man, and the FDNY isn’t exactly gay-friendly. For ten years, Griff has hidden his heart in a half-life of public heroics and private anguish.
Griff’s caution and Dante’s cockiness make them an unbeatable team. To protect his buddy, there’s nothing Griff wouldn’t do… until a nearly bankrupt Dante proposes the worst possible solution: HotHead.com, a gay porn website where uniformed hunks get down and dirty. And Dante wants them to appear there—together. Griff may have to guard his heart and live out his darkest fantasies on camera. Can he rescue the man he loves without wrecking their careers, their families, or their friendship?
It's been awhile since I read a book categorized Gay for You, which are my favorite in MM romances. I saw this one when I was checking out a list, and asked myself why not, so I read it. Overall, was a very good read, but sometimes I felt so so lost.
Redhead, big man, firefighter and handsome Griff Muir has struggled with feelings for his best friend, Dante Anastagio, almost forever. But these days, Dante is making his job of just staying his friend, very hard (literally). When Dante finds himself in a economical problem, he asks for Griff's help and he does everything he can, but Dante needs more. So, when a Russian approaches him to make porn for almost a grand, Dante was very into it. He's a ladies man, always down do to anything and if it means money, why not jerk off in front of a camera. The tricky part comes when Dante invites Griff, because it would mean more money. Seriously, Dante is making everything hard for Griffin (very literal). Will Griff confess and maybe ruin the friendship? Or, hold on.... PLOT TWIST AND SPOILER ALERT! Will Dante confess first?
Like I said, sometimes I felt so so lost in what was happening, because I couldn't find a time line in occasions. The narrator would have jump from the present to the past and then to Griff's thoughts about how his future would be. Some characters were plain confusing, like Griff's dad and others were very good written like Tommy and the two main characters. Everything about them was well put together. All the scenes and how the story went was very very good.
Everything was almost perfect, really. I was very sad when the book ended and I really hope the next book comes out, but from what I gathered it's been awhile since it's in planning. Waiting is painful, always, always. Read me later!
