Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

Well, here goes nothing. Again... I'm captured by books of Jennifer L. Armentrout. I remember when I read her series called The Covenant. I couldn't breath well until the last book came out and of how this is going, I will not until this series is finished too. I loved the book, but I hate of how it end and the cover of the book. Like, it couldn't have been more terrible. I love The Covenant covers, so I don't know why the Lux got the worse part.

I don't know how to summarize this book, so keep the synopsis in mind. I like Katy, I really do, but I don't understand half of why she do everything she does. I mean, Daemon can be very infuriating, but you cannot explode that easily. How sexy is that? Plus, is obvious that he has something for Katy, but she is so dumb that doesn't see it. Is she blind or something? Maybe. Apart from that, she did good in how she reacted about the alien thing.

The end, end... like the last page, that's what I didn't like. It was not a cliff, but it didn't gave us love. I want some inside of him, Daemon. I wanted babies, hahaha. Nevermind, I loved the book, the characters, the plot and of course Katy and her blog and reading things. I recommend it.

I don't know any french, yet, but google translate says this: "J'ai adoré ce livre!" Which is supposed to say that I loved this book. I really do... a lot. I never imagine that such a sweet story would got me. I must confessed that at the beginning, I didn't like it and I got distracted from reading it. But once I was 50 pages into, I couldn't stop.

Talking about the sweet story. Anna is just a girl who has a writter for dad and he wants her to finish her high school in Paris. Jezz, who would want that? But appearatly, she didn't. The thing she must hate is not that he sent her, is that he never asked if she wanted to. At the end, she went. Life as the newbie sucks and not knowing the language, worse. Until she meet Étienne St. Clair, who everyone calls St. Clair and is the most hot in the whole school. Time passes and they became best friends almost inseparable and feelings beginning to get in the middle, but St. Clair has a girlfriend. What would they do when those feelings begin to hurt? Because, he having a girlfriend hurt Anna.

This book was very thoughtful, it makes you think about who you are and what you want to be in the future. But most of all, how to find home. I don't have too much to say, because my last sentence resume it all.

Well, Maya Banks do it again. She rolled me inside this book for quite some time. I didn't read it that fast because of reasons, but whenever I had time... there I was, inside the book like a fly flying to the flame.

Just like I love it... dominate kinky billionaires that will do everything to have what they want. Gabe Hamilton and company were just how my doctor ask me to have. This book only focus in Gabe and I was not disappointed with the story neither the characters or anything. I loved every second of it. The combination between Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey and Graves Buchanan from Claimed by Him. Why did I compare Gabe with those two? Simple. He have all the kinky things of Christian Grey, including a contract and all. But he have the same problem that Graves had, about their best friend little sister. Obviously, Gabe is unique in some things, but I loved him.

I know that people hated this book or didn't finish it when they were reading, but I love it and other people did too. So take that in consideration. Begin with the book and if you don't like it, its okay, but if you do... continue it and you will love it as much as I did.

I need to think about this... maybe I could say Sia, by Josh Grayson. I though it was going to be like a typical novel when the bitchy girl wants be good and all, but it didn't. It was more deep than that.

4. Book you read in 2013 that you recommended to people most in 2013?

Mostly, people don't ask me for recs, but when they do... I tend to ask first what they like and depends their answer I reply their quesion. I recommend the Grey Wolves series, by Quinn Loftis, a couple of times.

5. Best series you discovered in 2013?

So, so hard... I would say New Soul series, by Jodi Meadows. I love all of it and I can't wait to have in my hands the third and last book.

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2013?

Obviously, Rainbow Rowell. She just rocked my world with Fangirl, but before that I read Eleanor & Park and Attachments too. Next year will be release Landline and I can't wait for it.

7. Best book that was out of your comfort zone or was a new genre for you?

Its not a science to know that I have never read an Horror book, but when I began Anna Dressed in Blood, I just couldn't stop myself to finish it and read the second book. It was not my comfort zone, because I don't like things that make me be scared.

8. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2013?

Hell! The Darkest Minds, by Alexandra Bracken, and then the second book, Never Fade. I just couldn't put them down. I finished them and wished to have an ARC for the next book.

9. Book you read in 2013 that you are most likely to re-read next year?

Clockwork Princess, by Cassandra Clare. I want to read the full trilogy again next year or maybe even before the year end. I always hope!

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2013?

Imaginary Girls, by Nova Ren Suma. The cover is just beautiful, that's why I bought the book. At the end, the book was not that wow, but the cover still beautiful and one of my faves.

11. Most memorable character in 2013?

Cath. From Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell. She is not a super badass heroine or anything, but I love how she overcome everything. And somehow she was the inspiration of why I change from concentration in university. She make me saw things in me that I even know I had  in me. Thanks, Cath!

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2013?

The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern. That book breathes magic!

13. Book that had the greatest impact on you in 2013?

I would say Fangirl, but I prefer not to repeat unless necessary, so I choose this time Thirteen Reasons Why, by JayAsher. Somehow I knew how Hannah felt.

14. Book you can't believe you waited UNTIL 2013 to finally read?

Two books actually: Requiem, by Lauren Oliver & Clockwork Princess, by Cassandra Clare. Both of them were released in March and they were the end of the trilogy, so I was crosing my fingers that the mailman brought my books on time to read them.

Romantic - Eleanor & Park relationship was the best one, from the book of the same name by Rainbow Rowell. It was so sweet and young. *le cries*
Friendship - From the series Grey Wolves, by Quinn Loftis, I choose the wonderful trio of Jacque, Jen and Sally. Those three would rather die than separete from themselves. Plus, they get in so many problems that sometimes have the three of them in the same room can be a risk, but worth it.
Mother & Daughter - The main charcter of the Akasha series (by Terra Harmony), Kaitlyn, show us in the last book, Earth, how far a mother can go to save the world for her daughter. Even stay away from her.
Boy & Dog - The perfect example would be Manchee and Todd, from The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. Those two are basically inseparable, until well...

19. Favorite Book You Read in 2013 From An Author You’ve Read Previously

Well, I could mention some. First, The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove, by Lauren Kate, I read it after I read her series Fallen, but I didn't like it that much. Second, the awesome author Lauren Oliver. I read first her book Before I Fall, then I continue with the Delirium series this year and no much long ago I read an ARC of Panic. And last, but nor least, John Green. Last year, I read two books and this year I read all the others.

20. Best Book You Read In 2013 That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else

I'm sad to say that I have not read such a book. I don't get recommendations to often, mostly I surf GoodReads and make my TBR list based in other people favorites lists.

Its very tied between Dystopian YA, Fantasy YA and Contemporary YA.

Today's challenge is Song Challenge!

Rule:

Pick any book you read in 2013 and choose a song(s) that best describes the book. You can even create a playlist if you want! Be sure to post links to songs (youtube, spotify, etc).

Actually this challenge is really hard for me, becuase when I read I always hear music. No matter. So I really have a list with all the songs with their books in my tumblr, you can see the list here.

I choose the book Eve, by Anna Carey. I read it in summer and of the triolgy my favorite was the first one.

The song that goes with it is Shelter, by Birdy. The song suits very accurate with the book and with the whole story of Eve and Caleb.
