Bout of Books 16 [Day 5]

It started four days ago... and I'm not doing that well yet. I almost forgot about the read-a-thon per se at the beginning, but I did read a little the past four days and I'm almost catching up. I suck! I challenged myself to read eight books, so right now that is still not looking good. What the hell I was thinking? Ugh.

Bout of Books 16 [Day 4]

It started three days ago... and I'm not doing well. I almost forgot about the read-a-thon per se at the beginning, but I did read a little the past three days, and I have not catch up for real. I suck because I read nada, zero, nothing today. I challenged myself to read eight books, so right now that is not looking good. What the hell I was thinking? Ugh.

TODAY'S CHALLENGE!
If You Like This, Try This
Since we all love recommending books, here's your chance to share the love. Example: If you like paranormal romance with bloodthirsty vikings, try Shelly Laurenston's Call of Crows series. Make sure you use the hashtag #boutofbooks on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, so we can see your recs.
If you really like books inspired by Frankestein and all that, you should try Megan Sheperd's trilogy called The Madman's Daughter. I do NOT like horror books, but I was hooked from the start with those.
How are you doing in the read-a-thon?

BUY IT NOW!
If you make me chose between the first book and this one, my favorite still the first one. I knew what I was getting myself to in this book, it did not disappointed but it wasn't outstanding. I wanted a little more, but I am not hopeless because there still books that are going to come soon and I see their progress in them as I saw Anne & Jim's. We'll see.

From the first book we know what's happening around Ben and Renee, but not quite much. We know that these two are in love with each other, but Renee doesn't actually want to act upon the fact that Ben want a date with her. You might think that it is because they have been friends from quite a long time, and she doesn't want to act upon it because friendship can be ruined. And, on part, it is, but the real reason threw me off. I never expected such a curve! Honestly, I don't understood much of it and I thought it was a very poor excuse, but it worked for their story.

I like Ben's point of view more than Renee's, but it was fantastic to have both. Another good thing was to see the last book characters, like omg I want to cuddle those twins a lot. We are introduced to a new character that it might have her book next, but I don't know about it, just guessing here. I hated that I couldn't have more scenes between Renee and Ben. The story was too short to add more, but I really really wanted more. At least, I don't know maybe an actual wedding or Renee getting pregnant, but no such thing happens here. I just wanted a little more. The author writes beautifully, so a longer book would be well received.

Overall, the book was a great pastime when I was bored in my car waiting for a class. It did not hooked me up much as the last book, but I definitely binge read it until it was done. Short, sweet, a little hot... it is a good read, so why don't you read it?

Taxi
(Take It Off #11)
by: Cambria Hebert

★★★★☆

The meter is running…

One night as Rose Crawford steps out of a bar, she gives no second thought to lifting her hand to signal for a cab. After all, it’s the responsible thing to do.

A common occurrence.

Far safer than walking several blocks, alone, in the dark.

A familiar-looking yellow taxi with black, faux-leather seats, running meter on the dash, and a smiling driver pulls up to the curb.

Rose slides in. Gives the driver her address…

But she never reaches her destination.

Instead, she finds herself captive, at the will of a man who isn’t a driver, but a bona fide psychopath.

Trapped in a taxi she can’t escape, Rose begins to panic. As the miles between her and safety grow, hope dwindles. It isn’t until someone else joins her in captivity that her spark of hope is rekindled.

Derek is strong, capable, and surely together they can fight their way to freedom.
Then Rose finds out exactly why she’s been driven into hell. Derek may be an unwilling captive, but he isn’t going to help her.

In fact, he’s there to do the exact opposite.

★★★★★

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.

Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy...and makes the cut.

Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.

But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.

When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

Show Off Your Shelves Photo Challenge
Share a picture of your books/shelves/nightstand/e-library/wherever you keep your books on Twitter, Instagram, or on this post. Use the hashtags #boutofbooks and #shelfie4boutofbooks

This picture does not gives justice to my shelves. I have two, but this is the only that looks sane enough to be shown. I got like 10 books going around other places like the floor, my car, my desk and just around, ok? So that's my only sane enough bookshelf, can I see yours? How are you doing in your reading?

Almost full-time bookwork. Student. Teacher. Sleeper.

I really tried to changed from last time I made this challenge. But some things never change, like being a bookworm. I am not a full-time, because life happens and I have to study and sleep. I hope to read more tomorrow or to at least finish the book. I think I'm dreaming to high, lmao. Are you participating in the read-a-thon?
