 Passenger #2

WAYFARER

Author: Alexandra Bracken
Publication Date: January 3rd, 2017

All Etta Spencer wanted was to make her violin debut when she was thrust into a treacherous world where the struggle for power could alter history. After losing the one thing that would have allowed her to protect the Timeline, and the one person worth fighting for, Etta awakens alone in an unknown place and time, exposed to the threat of the two groups who would rather see her dead than succeed. When help arrives, it comes from the last person Etta ever expected—Julian Ironwood, the Grand Master’s heir who has long been presumed dead, and whose dangerous alliance with a man from Etta’s past could put them both at risk.

Meanwhile, Nicholas and Sophia are racing through time in order to locate Etta and the missing astrolabe with Ironwood travelers hot on their trail. They cross paths with a mercenary-for-hire, a cheeky girl named Li Min who quickly develops a flirtation with Sophia. But as the three of them attempt to evade their pursuers, Nicholas soon realizes that one of his companions may have ulterior motives.

As Etta and Nicholas fight to make their way back to one another, from Imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, time is rapidly shifting and changing into something unrecognizable… and might just run out on both of them.

[Review] Mr. Romantic, by: JA Huss

Mister #2

MR. ROMANTIC

Author: J.A. Huss
Publication Date: June 22nd, 2016
Read Date: December 23rd, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Pages: 270

Charm is the key to the world.
Charisma, magnetism, sex appeal—that ‘it’ factor that can’t be described.
Nolan Delany has it is spades.
     The infamous Mr. Romantic.
And maybe he is out of my league… But I’m going to give it the old college try anyway. Because I didn’t travel two thousand miles for a job interview at his request just to be put out like trash.
     Don’t underestimate me, Mr. Delaney.
I’m really not as innocent as I look.

RATE:

Oh, hell, I am very very intrigued. The end of the first book left me with a very sweet after taste, which made me want to keep reading the series, but this book? This book made me want to read all the series in an instant. People, this series is a red flag of read-me-now-or-die kind of book.

I really don't want to spoil the whole issue that connects all the books, other than all the guys are friends, you know. I don't want to take the fun of it because if I tell it now, it would be a spoiler for the first book. But shit is really hitting the fan right now and no one knows how is happening or from where is coming. All these characters are intrigued of why the past is hitting their faces, but Mr. Mysterious to the rescue... that's why I want to read his book, but everything as its time, right?

Let's talk about this book. We know of Mr. Romantic, Nolan, from the first book, but we don't why they call him like that or even how he comes into the picture. Plus we have that things from the past that everyone (even me) want to know and clear out. But other than that, we have all this weird stuff of how Ivy came into his life. Who put her there in the interview? That person underestimate Ivy. That person underestimate that Ivy was capable for the job, that Nolan and she were the one for the other. That person thought it was sabotaging Nolan, but surprise.

What I really hate about this book is that even though it has fifty chapters, it is short. It doesn't let us know much at the end and I finished reading without much information of what actually came next in their lives. I'm hoping to read more in the next books, which I am really sure because this author does not leave loopholes. Mr. Corporate, I will read you next and I know you will not let me down, right? And you, people, read these books.

[Review] Mr. Perfect, by: JA Huss

Mister #1

MR. PERFECT

Author: J.A. Huss
Publication Date: April 27, 2016
Read Date: December 20-21, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Pages: 308

Wanting the perfect man doesn’t make me crazy. I just know what I like.
A powerful billionaire in a suit wasn’t even my first choice. McAllister Stonewall was never on my radar, I didn’t even know he existed.
     But I do now.
His hands are all over me at work. The heat of his chest pressing against my bare back as he bends me over the desk is the only thing on my mind.
He is my most forbidden desires unleashed. He is my new secret obsession. He is my Mr. Perfect.
Until the moment I realize… There’s no such thing as perfect.

RATE:

I shouldn't have been reading this book, or finishing or even writing this review. I should be studying for my GRE, but reading comprehension is better with a Contemporary Romance, am I right? So, I am going to write here what I understood of the book (which is basically what I loved of it).

Yesterday's night I was looking for a book to read. I wanted something short and fun, but I already read all my short books in my iPad. I saw that I had this series and in the past I loved JA Huss books, so I said why not give it a shot, plus is not that long as you can see. It started weird, then it got better, then even better (and weirder) and the end was magic (but the epilogue was even weirder. The author has this way of making me laugh of silly things and making her hot scenes even hotter. I regret nothing that I stopped studying for a while to read this, it was the best breather.

The two main characters are Mac, aka Mr. Perfect and Ellie. These two are weird by the page. He comes up with such strange (but hot) things and she has a come back for all the things he says. They are a perfect match. Ellie has a weird job, but Mac is her new boss and by the looks of it, her new baby-daddy. Mac is a very open, but very mysterious guy. No one knew from where he came from.

The story goes as any other, but weird. Is just that I cannot explain without spoiling much. But you are going to seriously love it if you like out-of-the-normal books and hot steamy scenes. Mr. Perfect has always the perfect words to say and makes anyone swoon. In this book, we also have a glimpse to the other Misters. Romantic is the next because is the most we know about in this book, but I am very curious to read Mr. Mysterious, because you know, mysterious man that's going to fall to his knees for a woman. Mmmm. . . Seriously, this series looks promising. You'll hear more from me soon. For now, read it yourselves.

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

The Burning World

(Warm Bodies #3)
by: Isaac Marion

Being alive is hard. Being human is harder. But since his recent recovery from death, R is making progress. He's learning how to read, how to speak, maybe even how to love, and the city's undead population is showing signs of life. R can almost imagine a future with Julie, this girl who restarted his heart—building a new world from the ashes of the old one.

And then helicopters appear on the horizon. Someone is coming to restore order. To silence all this noise. To return things to the way they were, the good old days of stability and control and the strong eating the weak. The plague is ancient and ambitious, and the Dead were never its only weapon.

How do you fight an enemy that's in everyone? Can the world ever really change? With their home overrun by madmen, R, Julie, and their ragged group of refugees plunge into the otherworldly wastelands of America in search of answers. But there are some answers R doesn't want to find. A past life, an old shadow, crawling up from the basement.

Bout of Books 18 [Sign Up Post]

BOUT OF BOOKS IS HERE!

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 2nd and runs through Sunday, January 8th in whatever timezone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 18 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Yes, I have been a little disconnected, but I am kind of back now, because the holidays and such, you know. This is my realistic goal: I will read three full books, no novellas, no books with 150 pages or less, just three "big" full books. AND I want to do all the "challenges" or games that this read-a-thon hosts offer, or at least the ones I can. The books I am thinking to read are:
  1. The Curse of Tenth Grave, by Darynda Jones
  2. The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  3. Heartless, by Marissa Meyer
That's it. I don't think that's too bad after my biggest and ultimate reading slump that might continue forever and ever. Anyways, I wish myself luck and all of you that are entering too! I mean, are you going to enter? Just do it.
