[R] On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God, by Louise Rennison

On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God
(Confessions of Georgia Nicolson #2)
by: Louise Rennison

4 of 5 stars

What is the matter with my life? Why is it so deeply unfab?

It's a day and a half now since I snogged the Sex God…
I think I have snog withdrawal. My lips keep puckering up…
I tried snogging the back of my hand, but it's no good…
It's been over a week. I wonder if it's my nose…
I have a HUGE nose that means I have to live for ever in the Ugly Home.

Zodiac
by: Romina Russell

Let me explain a little what all this is, shall I? For those you haven't read Zodiac, you should read my review non-spoilery that I linked above and for those who have read it or know things about the book, well, its kind self-explanatory.

In my collage I put some pictures of stars, the galaxy and plantes, because duh the book is in outer space, which you will find a lot of those things. The pictures with all the zodiac symbols is also easy, because the book spins around all the zodiac houses, so these are the symbols. The necklace is from the main character (Rho), which is a Cancer, and at some point of the story he has a similar necklace. Also the drums represent her because before hell broke loose she was a drummer. The picture in between (which I know is a Guardians of the Galaxy character) represents the bad guy in this story, just because I imagine him like that. Also the snake double headed represents him, you will know if you read the book. And last is the picture of the astronaut, because if you are in space as a human, you must need air which there isn't, so put your astronaut suit on, people.

That's it! I want to see pictures, link link link yours.

[R] Zodiac, by Romina Russell

Zodiac
(Zodiac #1)
by Romina Russell

5 of 5 stars

At the dawn of time, there were 13 Houses in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now only 12 remain….

Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old student from House Cancer with an unusual way of reading the stars. While her classmates use measurements to make accurate astrological predictions, Rho can’t solve for ‘x’ to save her life—so instead, she looks up at the night sky and makes up stories.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens—including its beloved Guardian—Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. But, a true Cancerian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts.

Then, when more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. She suspects Ophiuchus—the exiled 13th Guardian of Zodiac legend—has returned to exact his revenge across the Galaxy. Now Rho—along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard—must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians.

But who will believe anything this young novice says? Whom can Rho trust in a universe defined by differences? And how can she convince twelve worlds to unite as one Zodiac?

Embark on a dazzling journey with ZODIAC, the first novel in an epic sci-fi-meets-high-fantasy series set in a galaxy inspired by the astrological signs.

The 5th Wave
by: Rick Yancey

The Others came and we were toast.

Orphan, without much to survive, I need to keep going. Because I made a promise that I must fulfill, even if I have to kill for it or die.

I shall go on even if the world already ended.

I know its not that original, but I did what I could. I began and finished this book within the read-a-thon days, so it applies. I recommend the book too, very good. I want to read your sypnosis!

[R] Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, by Louise Rennison

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging
(Confessions of Georgia Nicolson #1)
by: Louise Rennison

4.5 of 5 stars

There are six things very wrong with my life:

1. I have one of those under-the-skin spots that will never come to a head but lurk in a red way for the next two years.
2. It is on my nose
3. I have a three-year-old sister who may have peed somewhere in my room.
4. In fourteen days the summer hols will be over and then it will be back to Stalag 14 and Oberfuhrer Frau Simpson and her bunch of sadistic teachers.
5. I am very ugly and need to go into an ugly home.
6. I went to a party dressed as a stuffed olive.

Challenge Coupling Challenge
You must take two characters from two different books and put them together in a relationship. Make sure you list the book and author that the characters comes from. You must explain why you put them together. The relationship is up to you (friendship, romantic, parental, etc.).
The Selection, by Kiera Cass
Red Queen, by Victoria Aveyard
Prince Maxon Schreave
+
Mare Barrow

That's my pair. Their series really look alike, but them are characters are more like the same. They fight for a change. They want the change, for everyone to be equal in everyones eyes. I love how Maxon thought and how well he play his father's game. But I love how Mare were all hands in fighting and using her own methods to free herself and the people she loves and admire.

I recommend both books to be read! Who did you pair up?

Waiting on Wednesday [1]

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
ITS MY FIRST POST! I have never done this meme, but always like to, so hopefully this year I will do more than a couple of them. I will try to post the most nearby book to be release that I'm (not) so patiently waiting for and if I don't post anything a week, well, there wasn't anything cool for me that week. But there may be a case that I post more than one book, I never know. This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

NEVER NEVER
by: Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher

Best friends since they could walk.

In love since the age of fourteen.

Complete strangers since this morning.

He'll do anything to remember.

She'll do anything to forget.

I'm (not) so patiently waiting for this book to come out from the moment they announced this beaty. I have never read a book of these authors, but some books of them are being in my TBR list for a while and what would be better that pop that cherry by reading a book by both of them? I'm sure I'm going to love it and that blur can make anoyone pick some kind of interest. Which book are you waiting on?

[R] The 5th Wave, by Rick Yancey

The 5th Wave
(The Fifth Wave #1)
by: Rick Yancey

5 of 5 stars

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

Bout of Books 12 [Day 2]

The Bout of Books Read-A-Thon began yesterday and I think I'm doing a great job for now. I participate in yesterday challenges and here will be posted the one for today.

Currently Reading:
  • The 5th Wave, by Rick Yancey [page 331]

You’ve just started to work at a bookstore (or library) - what are your top ten go-to book recommendations?
Prompts:
  • You may select any TEN BOOKS of your choice. These books can be from a specific genre, or you may like to choose a few books from various genres.
  • Make a list of the TEN BOOKS that you’ve selected. Make sure to include the title and author of each book.
Extra Prompts:
  • Why did you choose these books?
  • What would you say about each of these books when recommending them to a customer or library patron?
  • What would be close favourites for book recommendations that didn’t make it onto your list?
  • Is there anything else that you’d like to mention about the books you’ve chosen to include on this list?
My Top Ten Book Recomendations!

#01
More Than This
by: Patrick Ness

#02
Red Queen
by: Victoria Aveyard

#03
Shatter Me
by: Tahareh Mafi

#04
The Darkest Minds
by: Alexandra Braken

#05
Angelfall
by: Susan Ee

#06
Cinder
by: Marissa Meyer

#07
The Knife of Never Letting Go
by: Patrick Ness

#08
Legend
by: Marie Lu

#09
The Selection
by: Kiera Cass

#10
The Program
by: Suzanne Young

My Extra Prompts:
I guess that I don't have any special bond with these books, which are a few of my favorites, but its really good to recommend them. No matter which are your likes everybody likes something about them. May be the writing, the dystopian theme, the way they end, the author, the romance, the characters, the action or even because it may turns out a movie someday. These books has things in common that only if you read them all will understand. I love each one of them and I will recommend them forever. I would put in this list the Divergent trilogy, but it turns out that the end wasn't like these and that made the difference between them. I do recommend them, but just the first two books.
If you want something girly, but has a lot of war (meaning real war, but meaning war like love triangle), I recommend you The Selection & Red Queen. If you want something bigger than you, to understand how humans work and why they do what they do, I recommend you The Program & More Than This. If you want a war that you didn't expect, I recommend you Legend & The Knife of Never Letting Go. If you want to fight against everyone just to be what you are and what you want to be, I recommend Shatter Me & The Darkest Minds. If you want to help yourself and help others while dealing with a constant war and terrible secrets, I recommend you Cinder & Angelfall.
In all stories: the world is ending; you will always be the rebel; you will want to scream at the characters because of stupid decisions; you will fall in love with the romance; you will fight against anything and anyone just to be in the winning side; and you will cry tears of joy when the journey ends.
I kid you not, you will love these!
Which ones you recommend to me?

Teaser Tuesday [1]

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following: grab your current read; open to a random page; share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page; BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!); and share the title & author, too, so that other people can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
FIRST TIME DOING THIS! I love teasers, so why the hell not give a couple by month? Starting the meme this week with:
The 5th Wave
by: Rick Yancey

My Teaser:
"Because if I am the last one [human on Earth], then I am humanity. And if this is humanity's last war, then I am the battlefield." (p. 101)
Let me read your teaser!

Bout of Books 12 [Day 1]

The Bout of Books Read-A-Thon began and I'm so happy! Sooo... I'm going to participate in some "games" they are hosting, which are daily, plus posting sort of a wrap-up post every day to tell y'all how well, or not, I'm going.

Currently Reading:
  • The 5th Wave, by Rick Yancey [page 112]

Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt!

My Results Are:

1. Find an author with the same initials as you.
Not that there aren't around, but I don't know any with the same initals as me, which are SR. Instead of breaking my brain thinking I choose Lola and the Boy Next Door, because Stephanie Perkins has my same name and Fangirl of Rainbow Rowell, because her last name begins with R. Makes sense?

2. Find a book with the color yellow in it.
As you can see there are two, but my pick was Stop in the Name of Pants! by Louise Renninson.

3. Find an author name with the letter "S" in it.
Aswell, you see two, but my pick was Susan Ee that wrote the book called Angelfall (great book!).

4. Find a book with a female protagonist.
That isn't very hard to find. My pick is If I Stay, by Gayle Forman.

5. Find the longest book you own.
City of Heavely Fire, by Casandra Clare! That book is enormous! Do you know how my friend call it whenever he saw it? The bible. And just like that they had the same weight. It was worth reading it!

6. Find a book with a map in it or on it.
Does Paper Towns count? Because it has part of a map just in the cover.

7. Find a book with a face on it.
Requiem, by Lauren Oliver. She is peeking at you, as you can see.

Bonus: Find something on your shelf that isn't a book.
That doll, which I forgot the name I called her because is wasn't exactly mine. Someone gave that doll to my mom when she graduated from elementary school and when I was little she gave it to me, so basically that thing has more years than me and maybe you. Why is it in my bookshelf? No clue, I should ask mom, because what a mother doesn't know, is not real.

New Year's Resolutions!

I don't have any resolutions, but I dunno what I want and hopefully do and change this year (2015). First, I will try all these challenges and at the end be triumphant. Second, I will give my best in university because I want better grades that the ones I had last semester, which weren't that bad, but comm'on. Third, save money for next year of university (meaning august), because hopefully I will receive the letter saying that I can the student exchange I always wanted, so I need the money for everything (mostly food and where I'll live). Fourth, but not least, maybe reduce some (a lot) of pounds from my body, just for health and staying fit.

I want to know how went your Scavenger Hunt and which are your Resolutions?!
