Kaine Reynolds wants nothing more than solitude. After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, he’s cut off all ties to his former life so he can battle his grief the only way he knows how.

Alone.

So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face.
But Kaine’s gruff demeanor doesn’t scare her. She’s set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn’t mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband’s betrayal. Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate.

Yet what neither of them suspect is that their no-strings affair will result in the surprise of Piper’s lifetime—and Kaine’s worst fear.

Boy, I got destroyed just reading the prologue. There is no more worse intro than that.

After that most full of sorrow chapter that I have ever read, came chapter that based this book and how was going to go. Piper is a girl that we have heard before, but Kaine was a curveball that I did not see coming. The tension between these two could be knifed so bad. But both of them were burned and didn’t want to be “more”, until “more” was the only thing they could be.

The author wrote the pain, the anger and the sorrow so good that I almost cried for Kaine. His mother keeps saying that everything was a tragic accident and I couldn’t be more in tune with her. I give kudos to Piper for being as strong and as patient as she was in the book. Everything was tough, but she was tougher… and with humor too. I laughed way too much in this book, even though there was a bunch of sadness.

I don’t really want to spoil much, so I’ll leave this here. There was a little glimpse of the next book and I cannot wait to read about the spoiled brat of Logan’s sister and the sexy new bartender that I have yet to meet. As always, I recommend. Sweet ending.
